Wrinkles
No matter what you call them -- laugh lines, character lines -- wrinkles on the face are one of the not-so-nice side effects of getting older. Some faces are more prone than others, and much depends on lifestyle and genetics.
Short of seeking a surgical solution, or relying on Botox and dermal filler injections, there are ways of minimizing fine lines and wrinkles. These options will require a commitment on your part to make some changes in your normal skin care routine, but over the long run, the effort is worth it. They should be viewed as normal a part of your body maintenance as having your teeth cleaned regularly.
Among the things you can do to minimize wrinkles without surgery or injections are:
Create a relationship with an esthetician so together you can create a baseline from which to begin a new skin care regimen. We always offer complimentary skin consultations for that very reason.
Commit to regular Microdermabrasions. The exfoliation removes dead skin cells, allowing fresher new cells to rise to the surface. An immediate improvement in your appearance will be noticeable, with these effects increasing over the course of treatments. Your esthetician will make recommendations on frequency of microdermabrasion treatments best suited for your needs.
Regular Chemical Peels may also be recommended as a way to minimize fine lines and wrinkles. You will notice a marked improvement in the smoothness and texture of the skin. Once those dead skin cells have been removed, you will notice that your moisturizers absorb better and make-up applies more smoothly and evenly. This improvement lasts up to 3 months. To maximize results, we recommend 5 chemical peel treatments spaced 2 to 3 months apart. After that, a maintenance treatment once a year should keep your skin looking beautiful.
Use of Anti-Aging Products. Our line of Remedy skin care products includes broad spectrum sunscreen and moisturizers specficially formulated with antioxidants and vitamins. There is little doubt that protecting and hydrating the skin with effective skin products is key to preventing damage to your skin cells. Using these products should become a part of your daily life, just as routine as brushing your teeth.
