CoolSculpting: Results of our experiment

Posted by: kkaffai on Apr 24, 2013

In a previous blog, we described our CoolSculpting experiment on two subjects, Mr. Y and Ms. X. We were on a mission to find out if CoolSculpting is a sensible and effective way to get rid of stubborn abdominal fat, muffin tops and love handles. Essentially the CoolSculpting device relies on controlled cooling for non-invasive reduction of fat deposits to reshape body contours. The makers claim this cooling causes cell destruction of subcutaneous tissue without damage to the overlying tissue. Over the course of the next six months, these dead fat cells are cleared out of the body through the lymphatic system, resulting in a sleeker, less bulgy body.

Xeomin vs. Botox. Are they the same?

Botox(R) has been around a long time, so long in fact that it has become a household word, much like the word Kleenex is used to mean tissues or Clorox is used to mean bleach. But as with all great products, competition steps in and creates a comparable product. Such is the case with Xeomin (pronounced ZEE-o-min). Although it has only been recenty approved by the FDA for use in the U.S. (2011), the fact is Xeomin has been used in 19 European countries since 2005.  In the U.S., it's still the new kid on the wrinkle-busting block. For those considering injections to soften those forehead wrinkles or crow's feet, the common questions are: does Xeomin work as well as Botox? and are the two products the same?

Got Man Boobs?

There is rarely a man who doesn’t appreciate boobs, unless they happen to be on his own body. It is estimated that 40-60% of men suffer the embarrassment of sporting man boobs. Most men with boobs do a great job of concealing the problem. They avoid swimming, the beach, volleyball on hot afternoons, showers at the gym … anywhere they’d normally expose a manly chest. Sometimes they even avoid forming a relationship for fear of ridicule or rejection. Having breasts like a woman can be emasculating.

Beautiful people are not necessarily attractive just as attractive people are not necessarily beautiful. Although many people use the two adjectives as if they had the same meaning, there are subtle but significant differences.
